FAQs
How do I book?
Fill out the ‘book a chat’ form on my website and I’ll be in touch to schedule an exploration call with you. This is a free 20 minute initial chat where we find out a bit more about each other - from here you can decide if you think we’d be a good fit :) Then we can get you booked in for a first session and find a mutually agreeable time for regular sessions.
What will the first session look like?
We’ll briefly spend some time going over your intake form together. I will then spend the majority of the session getting to know you within your context at a pace that feels comfortable for our developing relationship. These initial exploratory discussions will likely carry over into our second session. I encourage clients to bring any questions or concerns they may have or topics they’d like to cover along to our first session.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. I work online with clients via Zoom. I send out the link for our session the day before via email with an appointment reminder and invoice.
Do you offer face-to-face sessions?
Yes. I currently offer in person sessions from Park Place in Leeds City Centre. The space has lots of natural light and cosy vibes, I’d love to welcome you there.
How long will I be in therapy for?
For as long as you would like to be. Some clients come with a very specific issue or concern and we might spend 6-12 sessions working together and they decide it’s a good time to end (with the knowledge they can come back whenever they want some extra support). Most of my clients work with me on a mid-long term basis, because of this and my relational approach to therapy, I don’t prescribe a set number of sessions per client. We have regular reviews of our work together where I create space for us to reflect on where we were, where we are, where you’d like to be; if there’s anything you need more or less of; how you are experiencing our relationship; if the aims/goals of therapy remain the same or if there’s been any shifts.
How much does it cost?
50-minute sessions are £65.
80-minute sessions are £95.
I offer a 5% discount on bundles of 6 sessions - £370.
I offer a 10% discount on bundles of 12 sessions - £702.
How will sessions typically look/what’s the vibe?
I tend to support clients in grounding/landing into our sessions via a check-in: sometimes this is a simple ‘how have you been since we last spoke?’ and sometimes it’s clear that we’d benefit from a guided grounding activity that activates our mind-body connection (e.g. breathwork, a body scan or some static stretching). I strongly believe that my clients are the experts of their own lived experiences, and I take the approach that therapy is a collaborative process - I am here to journey alongside you. Because of this, I will trust you to prepare or be holding in mind what you would like to explore or discuss in session each time. Sometimes, clients may need support with this (building up confidence in voicing what we need can be challenging) so we might spend some time mapping out the various options together before settling on what feels most pressing for you in that particular session. I will never force clients to go somewhere they’re not ready to, and I won’t punish you with silence! I’ll tailor the space to what you need week on week :)
How do I cancel or re-arrange a session?
Sometimes life gets in the way and you can’t make a session - I get it! If you’d like to cancel or reschedule a session please provide me with a minimum of 48 hours notice via email and I’ll be more than happy to sort that out for you :) If you provide me with less than 48 hours notice or you do not attend a session that you have booked, you will still be expected to pay for the session.
How do we end working together?
When it does feel as though we are coming towards an ending I always recommend a closing session - goodbyes can be hard, and the purpose of this session is to provide a therapeutic ending, reflecting on and honouring our work together. We will highlight your growth and make space for expressing what we have experienced together within the therapy space and within our relationship. Closing sessions aren’t always possible for a number of reasons, and I will always respect my client’s decision to end our work together regardless of circumstances.
What do I need to do before our first session?
Prior to our first session, you will receive an intake form and a contract of care via email. Please fill these out and return them to me before we meet. Make a note of anything that you write on your intake form that you consider to be high priority so that you can bring this to my attention in our first session.
How frequently will we meet?
I meet with my clients weekly or biweekly - meeting regularly means you’ll get the best out of therapy! I occasionally will have more ad hoc sessions with returning long term clients, however, I don’t offer ad hoc sessions as a general clinical recommendation as these can often feel like ‘check-ins’ rather than genuine therapy sessions.
Does everything I discuss in therapy remain confidential?
Yes, everything you share within our sessions remains confidential. However, there are a few circumstances listed below where confidentiality would need to be broken - I always aim to talk this through with clients first.
If I’m concerned that you are at risk of harm.
