Hello you
The soul of a therapist—those words were given to me during my Counselling and Psychotherapy training, and they deeply resonated. I've always felt a deep connection to people, even from childhood when I’d make friends with others without a common language or later, while volunteering during nighttime outreach with women facing complex disadvantages. This pull towards human connection has shaped my journey into therapy.
After studying Theology and Religion in York, not to work for the church (much to the surprise of some), but to explore different perspectives of people and the world, I found myself drawn to the creative world. From a cute bakery on the cobbles, to setting up my own bakery (Wildflower Bakery!) to working at East London’s famous Lily Vanilli and another social enterprise — I spent years working as a cake marker before returning to the heart of what called me: being alongside others.
I volunteered with Joanna Project Leeds and Beyond The Streets, supporting women who had experienced multiple disadvantages and were involved in on-street prostitution.
Therapy was my next step, and I trained at the University of East London, all while navigating new motherhood and the chaos of the pandemic. Therapy, both as a client and practitioner, has shown me the value of space, presence, and connection. This rich blend of experiences continues to shape my work today.
